What you need
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- About 65 MB of free space
- Nothing else. No .NET install, no account.
OtterTap works on the window that has focus, so run your game in windowed or borderless-fullscreen mode. Games in exclusive fullscreen may not show up to screen triggers.
Windows may warn you the first time
OtterTap is a new program, so Windows doesn't recognise the publisher yet. Some antivirus programs are also cautious about any tool that sends mouse clicks and key presses, because that is exactly what it does.
Run OtterTap.exe
Double-click the file you downloaded from this website.
Choose More info
If a blue "Windows protected your PC" message appears, click More info.
Run anyway
Only if you downloaded it here, choose Run anyway. We're working on signing the app so this goes away.
First run
- Put
OtterTap.exein any folder you like and double-click it. - OtterTap creates a Default profile. Make a new profile for your game.
- Follow the getting-started guide.
To remove OtterTap, delete the file. Your profiles are kept in %AppData%\OtterTap if you want to delete those too.
